Infants

Infancy is such a precious time in a childs life. This is when we get to see a child start to develop some of the most basic skills that we might take for granted as adults, such as basic motor skills, sensory exploration, muscle development, sound comprehension, language development and many others! Working with the parents, we do our very best to help the children develop these skills, keeping in mind that all children are unique and learn at their very own pace.

At Learn & Grow we provide three basic formulas, Gentle, Sensitive, and Advantage. We try to consistently use the "members mark" brand but this depends on availability. We do require parents to supply their own diapers, wet wipes and extra clothing for your child, although it is not necessary to supply burp rags, bibs, etc. Our infant rooms ratio is 1:4 , we typically always have two staff members in the room at all times. As many of us know, taking care of infants is no small feat and no one appreciates that more than us. In our infant room we have all kinds of toys for the infants to play with as well as swings, saucers and boppy pillows.

Toddlers

Toddlers are such a fun age! Toddler age is a time of great cognitive, emotional and social development. The term ‘toddler’ is derived from the word ‘to toddle’, which means to walk unsteadily, like a child of this age. During this stage, toddlers are learning a lot about their world. They are exploring their environment and developing skills in various areas such as physical development, cognitive development, language development and social and emotional development. In our toddler room the kids are served three meals a day, breakfast, lunch and snack. If you are curious about what we eat for our meals, you can refer to our "meals" page up above. In toddlers we work on potty training when appropriate, we practice table manners and using utensils when eating, as well as using our words when we want or need something. Our classroom ratio in toddlers is 1:7, we typically always have two staff members in the classroom at all times. Our toddlers have their very own large playground that is equipped with all kinds of riding toys, play houses, small slides and a sandbox. If you have any more questions about toddlers, don't hesitate to reach out to us through our "contact us" page!

Preschool

Preschool is our busiest room! So many fun activities to be done with this age group! They continue to learn all the basic skills that they begin to learn in toddlers, but they are getting better with each passing day. In preschool they really start to develop their own unique personalities which is so much fun to watch and interact with. We understand that most kids are still potty training once they get to preschool, this is something we take seriously at L&G because we know how stressful potty training can be for parents, so we try to do our part to help. Our preschool room is combined with our school-age group during certain times of day(morning & late afternoon) as well as certain times of the year(summer). We do have two large rooms that accommodates our preschoolers with multiple bathrooms, loads of toys, games, instruments, dress-up clothes, books and so much more! We also have a very large playground for our preschoolers which allows them to run, jump and play! We try to get them outside twice a day if the weather permits it. In the summertime, we do a class garden with the kids outside, which they absolutely love to watch fruit and vegetables emerge throughout the season! In preschool we serve three meals just like in toddlers, which are breakfast, lunch and snack. For more info on meals, check out our "meals" page. Our teacher to child ratio in preschool is 1:10. In preschool we focus on getting your child ready for kindergarten, so they are successful in a more structured environment. We do this by working on numbers, letters, spelling, and simply participating in group time while helping them remaining focus! With all that being said, we look forward to meeting your preschooler!

School-Age

At Learn & Grow we typically don't have very many school-agers and for this reason our school-age group is combined our preschoolers. We have two preschool rooms, so when school-agers are present we typically utilize one of the rooms for our older kids with the exception of mealtimes. School-agers have access to all types of reading materials, coloring utensils, and plenty of large muscle equipment! Learn & Grow has multiple children who attend Johnsville Elementary and conveniently, there is a bus that picks the kids up right outside our parking lot! In the summertime our school-agers as well as our older preschoolers get to go on field trips! They all have a lot of fun! We hope to meet you and your child soon!
