Art
We here at Learn & Grow feel that art is one of the most important ways for a child to express themselves! It fosters creativity and expanding their imagination. Art time also helps the kids learn to participate in a group-oriented setting.
Music
Playing musical instruments is one of the best ways for kids to let loose and be goofy while sparking interest in a potential future hobby or even career! The kids truly love music time because it is one of the times where being noisy is encouraged :)!
Movement and Dance
Movement and dance time is another way for the kids to get out all of their excess energy while have a fun time! We feel that dance time encourages kids to be extroverted and secure in what they do around others. What's the saying, "dance like nobody is around?".
Writing/ Reading
Writing and reading is something we can work on with some of our older preschoolers. This usually consists of working on the alphabet as well as practicing writing their own name. We practice sounding out the letters with the children during various activities. Watching a child start to comprehend letters and writing is very rewarding for us as educators!
Mathematics
At Learn & Grow we start exposing the children to numbers as early as toddlers, helping them understand the basic concept. In preschool, we work on counting and if they appear to be ready we will introduce basic addition and subtraction. This obviously varies from child to child based on their abilities.
Outside Play
Here at Learn & Grow we are proud of our two large playgrounds, one for toddlers and our very large playground for preschool! On both playgrounds we have all kinds of large muscle equipment for the children to use such as climbers, tricycles, slides, playhouses and sandboxes! We are able to do all kinds of activities on our playgrounds in the summer such as bubbles, group games, water play and much more!
